Tournament Rules

1) Tournament Format

 This is a single-round-elimination tournament.

A round will consist of contestants playing both ends of a 1v1 random game of multiplayer Austerlitz at Gamespy Arcade.

The winner will be determined by comparing levels of victory for the two games using the values below:

Decisive/3pts
Tactical/2pts
Marginal/1pts
Draw/0pt

If a tie-breaker is needed, the sum of scenario-points for BOTH games shall determine the winner.

The victor advances and the vanquished is eliminated.

Games will be random battles of SMMEET definition (for help with game codes, please see page 80 of the ANGV manual).

The actual numbers will be derived by players each supplying three digits and the host applying the result in an even/odd manner.

The games should be played one after the other with no more than a ten-minute break between battles.

If either player is unable to fulfill this requirement, he could be forced to forfeit at the discretion of his opponent.

There will be NO heckling during setup and NO pausing during the game.

Games should be played on slow unless otherwise mutually agreed by the contestants.

2) Administration

Players will enter the tournament by submitting an entry request by the entry deadline (http://www.greatest-battles.com/TEntry.htm).

Tournament results and current pairings, as well as the deadline for completion of the current round are available at GBRC (http://www.greatest-battles.com/TDraw.htm) .

The participant who loses the round will report the match results to the Tournament Judge (http://www.greatest-battles.com/TResults.htm) prior to the deadline for completion of the round.

3) Scheduling

Deadlines for each round will be posted (http://www.greatest-battles.com/TCal.htm and http://www.greatest-battles.com/TDraw.htm).

Entrants should establish contact with their opponents through GBRC's MP forum (http://pub21.ezboard.com/fgreatestbattlesforumfrm16) as promptly as possible.

Players who are unwilling or unable to make themselves available to their opponent for play and completion of a round are subject to forfeit and elimination from the tournament.

In the event both players are unable to find mutually satisfactory time for the match by the deadline of the round, the first player to have offered a reasonable opportunity will be deemed the winner.

4) Dispute Resolution

Disputes between players will be resolved by the Tournament Judge. The Tournament Judge shall make these rulings in consultation with the Tournament Committee.

5) Awards

Prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the tournament when winners are certified by the Tournament Committee.

6) Caveats

These are the guidelines as we currently know them. The Tournament Committee retains the right to change these guidelines at any time and in any manner in which they see fit. In this ability, they will be governed by their interpretation of the best interests of the Tournament.

[Tournament void where prohibited by law]
